“I wouldn’t ever look at ready-made meals from the supermarket again!” The convenience of having tasty, well portioned ready to heat and eat meals is ideal for the lifestyle of shift workers and flight attendants.

Jo is a proud Aucklander and has lived in the Howick area since she was 7 years old. She has been working for Air New Zealand for 5 years as a Flight Attendant. Recently, in the past 15 months, she has been a short Haul Flight Attendant.

Her husband is not a cook and even when following recipes he easily gets frustrated. After a long day of work, Jo was looking forward to veggies on her plate. Whereas her partner’s idea of dinner was meat and potato with nothing else. Looking for ready-made meals that can go from the freezer to the table seemed like the only viable solution.

Being a Flight Attendant means early starts and late finishes. When Jo orders MADE she doesn’t have the hassle of meal planning to worry about and she knows that she has tasty, healthy and nutritious meals waiting for her when she gets home. On the weeks she doesn’t order MADE, she wishes she had because she is back to contemplating what to eat and back to juggling shopping without creating too much food waste. This is a concern for the family because Jo’s daughter is also a shift worker. They often don’t eat together and it’s trickier to cook the right amount of food. When they have MADE at home, everyone just chooses what they want to eat, defrost it, heat it and eat it.

What surprised Jo about MADE is that the meals are the most delicious ready-made meals she has ever tasted. She told us that she wouldn’t ever look at ready-made meals from the supermarket again!

When we asked the Flight Attendant who she’d recommend MADE meals to she said that she would recommend them to anyone! Having some MADE meals in the freezer for nights when you can’t or don’t want to cook is ideal. She would especially recommend this to anyone who is a shift worker. The convenience of having tasty, well portioned ready to heat and eat meals is ideal for their lifestyles. There is not one meal she hasn’t had that she wouldn’t choose again. Wow that’s some high praise – thanks Jo!
