Life beyond The Programme

8 weeks ago you started out on a journey that that has led you to your current self. Take a moment to reflect on this and how your life and outlook compares now to the former you. Acknowledge your hard work and reward your success with something that you truly value and will support your new well-thy lifestyle.

 Looking ahead now to the challenge of maintaining your success can seem a little daunting but with the aid of your supporters, your new tool belt full of helpful strategies and the knowledge you have acquired, take comfort and have confidence. Accept that the occasional lapse is normal and if this happens, get straight back on track. Don’t let it make you lose sight of your overall goals and the progress you have made but instead learn from it to help you for the future.

The end of Fresh Start The Programme is a great time to reflect on what you’ve achieved over the last few months, what you’ve learnt and how you’re going to go forward from here. We hope you’re in a better place with your health, and that you continue to make it a priority. Nourishing our body isn’t always the easiest option, but it’s always worth it in the end! To keep going with your healthy eating intentions, here are some things we suggest:

  • Spread the love and become a mentor for a friend who is trying to lose weight or improve their eating habits. Use your new-found knowledge on all things healthy eating and lifestyle to help someone else who is just starting out on their journey!
  • Try setting slightly different health goals. Now that you’re hopefully more in tune with your body and your eating is fresh and healthy, goals to do with sleep, exercise and stress would be a good way to round out your overall health.

Meet the Nutritionist

Emma ‘Edamame’

Our in-house nutritionist Emma ‘Edamame’ was born and bred in mid Canterbury and has the health and wellbeing of Kiwis in mind at all times. As an NZ registered nutritionist (NZ Nutrition Society) with a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science from the University of Auckland, she makes sure we’re all getting our fresh dose of local veggies and our meals are full of nutritious substance – thanks for having our back Em (and our waistlines!). When it comes to New Zealand produce, Emma is a whizz, with fresh berries being her absolute fave. Intrigued to know what food this nutritionist couldn’t live without? Fresh fish and seafood, delivering on both flavour and nourishment. As well as ice cream, especially real fruit ice creams, in the summer time! Life’s all about a tasty balance, right?
