Coco-Cacao Bliss Balls

Servings 16
Prep Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 100g dates
  • 3 Tbsp boiling water
  • ¾ cup rolled oats
  • cup desiccated coconut
  • 3 Tbsp cacao powder
  • 3 Tbsp peanut butter (or for a nut-free alternative use 2 tablespoons honey and 2 tablespoons butter)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Cacoa (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  • Bring a half-full kettle to the boil. Line a tray with baking paper.
  • Place dates and boiling water in a medium, heat-proof bowl and allow to sit for about 5 minutes, until dates have softened and most of the water has evaporated. Stir and mash with a fork, until they form a smooth paste.
  • Add coco-cacao bliss ball mix, peanut butter (or honey and butter) and salt to bowl with date paste and mix until well combined.
  • Measure out tablespoon amounts of mixture and use damp hands to roll into balls. Dust in cocoa (if using) and place on prepared tray. Chill in fridge for at least 2 hours before serving, or transfer to an airtight container to store in the fridge.
  • To serve, enjoy a bliss ball with a cup of your favourite tea.
