6 cups whole milk
2 cups cream
¼ cup brown sugar
225g milk chocolate
¼ cup cocoa powder
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cinnamon stick (optional)
Choice of Alcohol (Optional, adults)
30ml Baileys Irish cream
Set aside slow cooker or a medium pot.
Add hot chocolate ingredients to slow cooker or pot and whisk until combined.
Cook in slow cooker on high for 4 hours, or on stove top on low heat for about 35-40 minutes, stirring occasionally. Hot chocolate will be thick and creamy when ready. Whisk thoroughly just before serving.
To serve, whisk hot chocolate and pour into your favourite mug. Decorate with toppings of your choice. Adults can add a measure of liquor to your mug of hot chocolate before serving for an extra warming drink.
For best results use a good quality milk chocolate.
